In 2020, the US self-improvement market was worth an estimated $10.5 billion. While that number is down 10% from 2019, primarily due to impact from the pandemic, the industry is projected to rebound significantly and reach a value of $14.0 billion by 2025. Life coaching has followed the same trend: a small decline between 2019 and 2020, but is up from $1.18 billion in 2020 to $1.4 billion in 2022 and continuing to grow.
What does this mean? Clearly, people are looking for answers. The problem is that they aren’t finding them. Clients who seek life coaches often tell a similar story: they have read and delved into every self development book and course they could find, with little to no results.
Where’s the Change?
Evangline De Châtillon is a life coach and mentor who is committed to filling the gaps left behind by traditional counseling and self-development.
“We all have a desire to learn, grow, and improve our lives and the situations we find ourselves in,” say says. “But despite exploring countless self-improvement and self-development resources and gaining massive amounts of knowledge, so many of my clients find themselves making little or no progress.”
When someone is committed to bettering themselves and improving their life journey, meeting dead end after dead end can prove incredibly frustrating. It’s enough to cause many people on this path to abandon hope that they’ll ever see lasting changes applied to their circumstances. In fact, studies show that at least 20% of clients end therapy prematurely, or before actually receiving the help they need.
Knowledge Alone Is Not Enough
Evangeline has learned that in traditional counseling, therapy, and coaching, failure or unrealized results is proof that knowledge alone does not mean that change will occur. “What’s required,” she reveals, “is the correct toolset – a blueprint hand-crafted to your needs. We can’t do it with mere knowledge alone.”
What she offers is more deep and hands-on than traditional therapy. She won’t just sit you down on a virtual couch and have you expound upon your feelings of worthlessness or try to fix you into a box of diagnostic symptoms. Evangeline works with her clients individually to get to the root of their issues and weed them out at the core.
The current mental health crisis is something that desperately needs to be addressed. It’s estimated that in 2022, over 11.4 million adults in the US have suicidal thoughts, an increase of 664,000 people from 2021. Children and teenagers are also suffering; this year, studies reflect that more than 15% of young Americans (ages 12-17) have reported at least one major depressive episode in 2022, and over 10% of youths in the US have severe major depression. That’s over 2.5 million children and teens.
How Evangeline Makes a Difference
Even in states where mental health care is available, which is certainly not everywhere, there is limited success and the numbers of suicidal, depressed, or otherwise emotionally suffering people grows every year. This is while, again, self-help book sales skyrocket. Clearly this indicates a disconnect.
Evangeline De Châtillon was once in the same boat. She delved into countless self help books. “I loved what I read,” she shares, “yet experienced little to no real lasting results. It wasn’t until I applied the same toolset and blueprint with which I coach my clients that I truly experienced impactful, lasting results and profound changes that I continue to carry out and build upon to this day.”
Evangeline states that success is not defined the same way by different people. However, she has learned that the key to achieving success and happiness, whatever your definition of those may be, is learning to apply specific thought patterns and habits to your life.
Evangeline realizes that because success is different for everyone, what her clients need from her as a mentor and coach will vary significantly. This is why she has adapted her teaching and coursework to accommodate a wide variety of goals. One client may come to her looking for relationship counseling; another for personal leadership training; yet another for business and entrepreneurship advice. She is able to accommodate all these demands and more.
