Dr. Sahil Gupta Continues to Make Fertility Services Affordable Through OMA

SAN JOSE, California – Oma Robotics, a robotics company based out of silicon valley in California, has started using some of its proprietary AI and Robotics technology to automate processes for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. Co-founder, Dr. Sahil Gupta, has been critical in Oma Robotics’ rapid expansion in the US market. Dr. Gupta had previously opened fertility clinics in several countries. One of the most well-known of these is his Aveya chain of fertility clinics in India.  By combining AI and robotics in the lab and human-centered care, Oma Robotics’ fertility arm will make parenthood possible at a more affordable price.

What is OMA Fertility?

Oma Fertility is the new fertility division of Oma Robotics. It was founded in 2020 by a team of top-notch engineers and AI experts. Oma was first conceived when founder Gurjeet Singh heard the story of an acquaintance who had gone through IVF. Singh was astonished to discover that the couple endured six cycles of IVF without success, paying $45K for each cycle, and eventually filing for bankruptcy. After learning how expensive and difficult the traditional IVF process was, Singh decided to make his own IVF company that could offer IVF services that were significantly more effective and affordable.

To help him realize this vision, Singh brought on Dr. Sahil Gupta and Kiran Joshi as co-founders.  Singh included these experts in the venture because of their respective experience and expertise in the fertility services industry, and because of Dr. Gupta’s prior success with his pioneering business model.

The company’s first innovation that has taken IVF to the next level, is Oma Sperm InSight™, which uses AI to help pinpoint the most promising sperm cell for use in IVF. Offering services like egg freezing, frozen embryo transfer, and donor egg IVF, the clinic stays with the patient through every step of the process and maintains consistent and clear communication. Oma Fertility opened its first fertility clinic in Santa Barbara, California in 2021 and has plans to continue expansion nationally throughout the next few years.

Because of Oma Sperm InSight’s potential for increasing fertilization rate and embryo quality, along with our ethical pricing model, Oma Fertility makes IVF significantly more accessible for families, compared to conventional clinics. Through vertical integration, Oma Fertility passes on cost-saving developments that have historically not been passed on to the patient. Oma Fertility’s per-cycle cost for IVF, including ICSI, is $7,500.

About Dr. Sahil Gupta

Dr. Sahil Gupta is one of the co-founders and the Chief Commercial Officer of Oma Robotics and Oma Fertility. He is a physician by training and specializes in fertility. Aveya, Gupta’s chain of eight clinics in India and Nepal, does 6,000 IVF cycles per year. Dr. Gupta is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and has completed the school’s General Management Program. Affordable IVF & Fertility Services

Dr. Sahil Gupta has a long track record of providing affordable services for couples or individuals seeking new approaches to fertility technology. Fertility treatment in India typically ranges from $2000 to $3000, making it unaffordable to the general population. Dr. Gupta sought out to make a change, believing that the public deserved to have affordable options with better technology. “I launched Aveya with the hope that using artificial intelligence will improve outcomes and will bring affordable reproductive medicine to the common people.” Aveya holds a stable pregnancy rate of 60% which is at par with the best clinics in the world.

By bringing his expertise to Oma Robotics, he is providing a safe, affordable avenue for couples and individuals seeking fertility services. In the US particularly, one of the most privatized health industries in the world, making it one of the most expensive in the world, Oma is fulfilling a strong demand and great need for more affordable fertility services.

Dr. Sahil Gupta on the “Why’s” of Business

“Success means that we are building a company that has a positive impact and brings joy to the lives of thousands of people. ‘The Why’ is a very important part of success,” Dr. Sahil Gupta explained in the approach he brings to OMA and the zeal he has brought to previous ventures. With a resolve to bring substantial value to everything that he does, Dr. Sahil Gupta is determined to change any industry he’s utilizing his expertise to help shape.
